Food

Tash, Tom and their amazing team from Burbury Whole Foods will be feeding you at The Fit Way retreat! They are passionate about supporting a sustainable and regenerative food industry and inspiring people to create a more meaningful connection with their food. They do this through prioritising organic and local, connecting with their farmers and sharing recipes and wisdom. Food inspired by a Mediterranean way, you will have three buffet style meals on each of the full retreat days, afternoon tea, dessert plus a seasonal fruit bowl, tea (homemade tea blends), Byron Bay Coffee and a selection of milks always available. Learn more about what they do at www.burburywholefoods.com and/or @burburywholefoods. Food will be served in the large architecturally designed main house which features a stunning 22 seat timber dining table, cosy living room with library and a bean bag area to relax. You are welcome to bring your own wine to enjoy at the end of the day or with dinner.

THE YOGA STUDIO

Flooded with natural light and fresh air flow, this is the space we will use for yoga, pilates, fitness sessions, meditation & breathwork workshop and the nutrition seminar.

MAGNESIUM POOL

The magnesium pool is set amongst lush gardens and has beautiful, soft, clean water that doesn’t irritate the skin or eyes like traditional chlorine pools. Relax on the outdoor lounges or soak up the sunshine on the deck chairs.

INFRARED SAUNA & ODIN ICE BATH

Enjoy hot and cold therapy by jumping between the pool and sauna, or sauna to ice bath for the incredible health benefits and ultimate relaxation.

OUTDOOR FIREPIT

The outdoor firepit is surrounded by lush gardens and nestled underneath a beautiful poinciana tree at the side of The Main House. This will be lit on Friday and Saturday evenings after dinner. If it is wet, we will instead enjoy the indoor fireplace in the main living room.

SPRING FED DAM & NATURE TRAILS

The private nature trails are kept short for easy navigation and peace of mind, ranging from 10 – 40 minutes return. Cool off after a walk with a refreshing dip in the rainforest creek or spring fed dam.

Emma Le Sueur, founder of The Fit Way

Emma lives in Skennars Head where she runs The Fit Way Women’s Fitness group classes and personal training studio. She has been in the health and wellness space for over 10 years, running a health food business, managing gyms and then starting The Fit Way in 2019.

She is passionate about keeping people active, strong and moving well and also creating a community for social connection and friendship. She believes in a holistic approach to health and loves connecting with other health professionals.

She has completed certifications for Personal Training, Group Fitness, Mat Pilates, Mat Work Programming and Progressions and Pilates for Pregnancy. She enjoys strength training, pilates, yoga, running and walking.

Inge Ruigrok, Yoga Teacher

Inge started practicing yoga 20 years ago when she was working full time. The job was stressful with many of hours sitting in front of the computer. With yoga she noticed a positive effect on both her physical and mental state of being.

She has completed 350 hours of teacher training in Sydney and in Chennai, India and was certified for Level 1 by The Yoga Institute in 2010.. Always keen to learn more she completed another 150 hours training with Flo Fenton in Suffolk Park (Intouch Yoga) and is currently a Level 2 teacher, registered with Yoga Australia (who encourage teachers to keep up yearly continued professional development).

Inge currently teaches mostly Slow Flow and Vinyasa Flow. ‘Vinyasa’ means ‘to place in an intelligent order’- in other words, in Vinyasa style classes, we string postures together in the right order so you move from one to another, seamlessly, with your breath. Slow Flow flow is pretty much the same in concept only a little gentler, and of course ‘slower’. She always offers options in her classes to suit different experience levels, ages and abilities, so that everyone can take part and feels included. The emphasis is on safety, not aesthetics.

Meredith Bryant, founder of Wellbeing Arc

Supporting others to discover empowering tools for inner nourishment and wellbeing has always been at the forefront of Meredith’s professional career and personal exploration. Even as a young girl, she was fascinated with learning about practices that cultivated stillness from the busyness of the mind.

It was her fifteen years as a primary school educator and assistant principal that allowed her to not only cultivate a love of teaching but also a passionate motivation to empower individuals with the tools to to thrive from within.

Several years ago, Meredith founded Wellbeing Arc Collective. Nestled in a beautiful property in Lennox Head, the Collective aims to empower the individual, both children and adults, by providing dynamic meditation and mindfulness workshops and treatments.
